The group is now understandably getting on in age and growing smaller each year, but there are still 26 Legends going strong who competed in the event yesterday. I’m sure there were lots of whispers behind the scenes but, so far, we’ve never been treated differently – and neither have the boys. Kids are bullied about all sorts of things, but you don’t want to be the reason your child has a target on their back. It’s very challenging.

I wanted them to be inspired by the elite athletes who compete in the event, both runners and wheelchair participants, the exciting costumes on display by those who run less competitively, the volunteers who selflessly dedicate their time to make the event happen.

We also cheered on the C2S Legends, the group of runners who have participated in every C2S since it’s inception back in 1971.
