The only solutions for using school accounts are either to log on to the Chromebook using the School accounts, where it seems most of the applications and browsing is completely open and unrestricted, or installing a third party browsers an then sign into the school Google Classroom accounts from there, without other browsing restrictions set with Family Link. If the location is not real-time or very recent, then it will show as grayed out and it should tell you when it was last updated at the top.

This does require your child’s phone to be on and connected to the internet to work; otherwise, it will show their last know location. The Music and Books filter simply allows you to choose if you want to restrict music or books that are marked with an explicit tag for their content. Parents can also use Family Link to create a Google Account for a child under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your country). Keeping tabs on your child’s digital adventures can be challenging.

Unfortunately the suggestion to log into the child account managed by family link and then log into the google school account doesn’t appear to be possible.

After a couple of hours of trial and error, I came across this thread: https://support.google.com/chromebook/thread/1057188?hl=en. It turns out you are unable to add school accounts within the context of Family Linked accounts on Chrome OS. What I suggest is to log into the Family link account and add the school account like you would in chrome so they can still access google classroom with your policies. Look for the section call Content restrictions. To make sure that emails make it to your child's inbox, add the sender's email address to your child's contact list. In order to use Family Link and its parental control features, you'll have to set your child up with a brand-new Google account.

If your child is already signed into their Chromebook with a personal account supervised with Family Link, you can add their school-issued Google Account as a secondary account.
