The Hobbit is one of the few books that has ever done this to me, being the beginning of a series of books that is probably my favorite of all time. It was an instant success as a children’s book but has captured the hearts of generations ever since. I think everyone should read it. A very good book. I love all the Tolkien books but this one is my favourite! It has a certain appeal that makes the reader want to continue reading the book all day. I have read it twice now and each time have found myself completely lost in the world that Tolkien has created. The novel’s oral beginnings are reflected in the frequent comments the narrator I have watched the movie and also read the book.
In this type of story, a hero sets out to accomplish a dangerous goal, often traveling over the span of his known world in the process and encountering representative samples of its different people. It is a wonderful story, I would highly recommend this book for children of all ages as well as adults. Bilbo is clearly the Great work J R R Tolkien. The label "Timeless classic" is given to too many books but in the case of The Hobbit it is fully deserved.
It left me wanting more and feeling like Fili, Kili and Throin at the battle of the five armies.
The language is pretty good and the storyline is amazing though it can be slow-paced at times.
It’s plot is pretty nice and the story flows. This book was totally AWESOME.
Bilbo’s fifth challenge is Lonely Mountain and Smaug. I was given this assignment for a summer reading project but, even without the assignment I would have read the book anyway because, it was just calling my name!!! style, does not seem to resemble grim, grand epics such as Beowulf or The Iliad. (However I would never choose this as a book to study with a class. Hobbits are known for their skills in thievery and spying.
The book is good and interesting to read. I first read it when I was 11 and I love it. It is the one of the best books I ever read.
