As Director of the Office of Scientific Research and Development, Dr. Vannevar Bush has coordinated the activities of some six thousand leading American scientists in the application of science to warfare.

The interactive Map of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's correspondence provides a geographic visualization of Rousseau's letters from the Collection complète des oeuvres, published in Geneva between 1780 and 1789. Introducing DH in the academic programs at an undergraduate level can be a difficult path to traverse. Making of America is a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. We want to demonstrate how visual analysis tools can help us to generate new knowledge through methods rooted in humanities scholarship using annotation capabilities and the ability for scholars to insert new data and resolve existing data. The collaboration has been funded by the Presidential Fund for Innovation in the Humanities at Stanford. It focuses on the dynamic visualisation and exploration of Humanities data from a DH perspective. Gilded Age Plains City: The Great Sheedy Murder Trial and the Booster Ethos of Lincoln, Nebraska explores the development of towns and cities on the Great Plains through the lens of a murder case in the 1890s that evolved into a fascinating story that drew the attention of nearly everyone in town and people from across the region and country. Imaging the French Revolution—an experiment in digital scholarship—is organized in three sections. At the other extreme, it is expressed in closely affiliated clusters of individuals sharing ideas either directly in correspondence, in salons, or indirectly through publications and via intermediaries. This book provides a plainspoken and thorough introduction to the web for historians—teachers and students, archivists and museum curators, professors as well as amateur enthusiasts—who wish to produce online historical work, or to build upon and improve the projects they have already started in this important new medium.

The National Endowment for the Humanities is the principal sponsor of the project, and it is an Emory University Digital Library Research Initiative. VCDH supports and encourages the use of digital technologies for scholarship and teaching. Visitors will find historical essays, research articles (in the Northwest Ohio Quarterly) photo galleries, interactive media, video, virtual exhibitions, and other resources needed for school, private, and scholarly research. an open-access, peer-reviewed, digital journal covering all aspects of digital media in the humanities with a commitment to: 1) "experimenting with publication formats and the rhetoric of digital authoring; 2) co-publishing articles with Literary and Linguistic Computing (a well-established print digital humanities journal) in ways that straddle the print/digital divide; 3) using open standards to deliver journal content; and 4) developing translation services and multilingual reviewing in keeping with the strongly international character of ADHO". The database tracks the dissemination of over 400,000 copies of almost 4,000 editions of 3,600 works around Europe by a celebrated Swiss publisher-bookseller, the Société typographique de Neuchâtel (STN), in the period 1769-1794. Much of this data has been captured and has already allowed us to begin mapping the physical and virtual topology of the network.

“The Digital Life Project” aims to reframe how we define digital humanities at UC Berkeley by enabling the investigation of source materials primarily focused on racism and racial violence and subsequently replicating this framework for other activist efforts. Cleveland Historical is a free mobile app that puts Cleveland history at your fingertips. In essays, seven scholars— selected for their previous work on revolutionary images—analyze forty-two images of crowds and crowd violence in the French Revolution, a shared on-line archive that provided the starting point for the project.
