Texas Education Code §28.0258 revises the state’s assessment graduation requirements for students enrolled in the 11th or 12th grade during the 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, or 2018-2019 school years.

A student who has failed the EOC assessment graduation requirements for no more than two courses may receive a Texas high school diploma if the student has qualified to graduate by means of an individual graduation committee (IGC) determination.Individual Graduation Committee Frequently Asked Questions--updated April 3, 2020 (PDF).
Students who entered high school before the 2014-2015 school year have the option to graduate under the new Foundation High School Program or the existing Minimum High School Program (MHSP), Recommended High School Program (RHSP), or Distinguished Achievement Program (DAP).

Transfer students who have been assigned a Texas State catalog based on their first semester at a Texas junior college have six years from the end of the semester upon which their catalog designation was based to graduate, not six years from their initial semester at Texas State. In accordance with Section 51.9685 (b) of the Texas Education Code, after completing 30 semester credit hours students should request a degree plan audit through the college academic advising center or through their major department/school, as determined by college guidelines.
Students need to verify that they are meeting the appropriate degree requirements including coursework and grade-point averages in all courses taken at Texas State and in the major and minor fields of study. “Requirements for the Degree” refers to the pattern of courses and grade-point averages required for graduation. The new Foundation High School Program became the default graduation program for all students entering ninth grade beginning with the 2014-2015 school year.
Likewise, no more than six semester credit hours may be counted as electives in a minor or second teaching field once the minimums have been met. Graduation will occur when the student has completed requirements for both degrees. Students earning second bachelor’s degrees subsequent to receiving the first bachelor’s degree are eligible for graduation with honors if they complete 54 or more hours at Texas State in pursuit of the second bachelor’s degree. 19 TAC §74.1027 Frequently Asked Questions.
